Across the country, we’re gathering in small spaces to make a BIG change. Through coffee shop conversations, community park events, and local storytelling, SJAC is building a community network to talk about what matters most including equitable access to education, healthcare, and social justice.

"Words resonate across time, urging us to break the chains of silence and speak up about the things that truly matter. Our lives find purpose and meaning in the pursuit of justice, equality, and positive change."

President Trump’s massive domestic policy bill, packed with tax cuts for the wealthy and deep Medicaid cuts, narrowly passed the Senate and now faces backlash in the House. Trump continues to push the House for a quick turnaround (i.e, July 4).

The "One Big, Beautiful Bill” promises tax cuts and prosperity, but hides deep cuts to Medicaid, judicial power, and public services. This sweeping legislation threatens civil rights, healthcare access, and economic stability while benefiting the wealthy and undermining democratic safeguards.

The NEA highlights four major ways Trump’s 2026 budget proposal would gut public school funding, cut civil rights enforcement, consolidate K–12 grants into block grants (reducing funding by $4.5 billion), eliminate key college-access programs, and slash Title I and special-education supports. These changes would diminish oversight, widen inequities, and deprive low-income and disabled students of essential resources.

The NEA warns that dismantling the Department of Education would strip vital resources, gut special‑education services, and defund programs like Pell Grants, Title I, and vocational training, which will disproportionately harm low-income students and students with disabilities. Without federal oversight and funding, class sizes may skyrocket, support systems collapse, and educational inequity may deepen nationwide.
